Microsoft fights back by listening

Microsoft fixed a lot of the problems that were most irksome to customers using previous Office versions: Multimedia editing can now be done within Word or Powerpoint, security has been vastly improved, and much to the delight of anyone using Office 2007, the "ribbon" has come back after Microsoft unwisely confused users by getting rid of the "File" button.

Even the most common tasks like "undo" and "paste" have been improved, with Office 2010 giving users the option of pasting in simple text, just images or all content with just one click of the mouse.

Outlook has perhaps seen the most drastic improvements. Instead of hunting for replies, conversations are now grouped together. To avoid getting overloaded with irrelevant e-mails, users can click an "ignore" button to send all future e-mails in a conversation to the "Deleted" folder. And Outlook 2010 also integrates Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace and Windows Live.

I have just briefly shown you guys what the New Microsoft Office 2010 can do for you today.

I believe that it has come in at the right time. The technological industry is now more revved up than ever before. The other industries seem to have been undermined by it completely. The shadow cast by the IT firms have obscured the rest of the industries.

Now, they rule the market and the news are perpetually revolving around them. This spells more trouble for the IT firms as well. Why? Well, with more focus on the technological firms now, all of them are fighting hard to get into the spotlight, to emerge victorious.

Right now in the standing, Google's Android and Apple are clearly getting all the spotlight.

Apparently the quiet Microsoft has gotten boisterous lately with its introduction of the touted Windows 7 along with the new Microsoft Office 2010 that is going to be released on June 7.

I'm glad that Microsoft has listened to the consumers, that the ribbon is not exactly the best thing in the world. They still prefer drop down menus like "File".

Kudos to Microsoft for listening.

F(x) 's NU ABO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Presenting to you guys.

F(X), one of my favourite girl group in KPOP.

As you guys might have already learnt in your maths lesson, the group was named because it is known to be diversified. The letter x is said to be a variable, meaning to say that the group per se is ever-changing and constantly unpredictable.

A pretty good name I must admit!

They have this really sweet image with a cool girl inside as well. I guess every girl groups need a cool girl to spice things up at the end of the day right?

f(x) is made up of Sulli, Amber, Luna, Krystal and their leader Victoria.

Awesome video.

Enjoy

IBM Buys Sterling Commerce

On Monday, the technology behemoth said it would buy Sterling Commerce for $1.4 billion from AT&T Inc. in a move to expand its business software portfolio. Sterling has 18,000 customers using its technology to conduct transactions with select business partners, such as order management and fulfillment.

This won't be the last of IBM's deals. Its executives told investors just a few weeks ago that the company plans to spend about $20 billion over the next five years, mostly to expand its software business.

This deal is merely 7% of what IBM is prepared to spend over the next 5 years. But of course, IBM is not alone. Other major companies like Microsoft, Apple, Google, Dell, Oracle are poised to make even more acuqisitions and mergers deals with a lot more other small little companies. Afterall, these small companies are very powerful when it comes to relating to the needs of the mass public.

Although they are small, they understand every single needs of the public. It's just that they do not have the financial capacity to fulfill the needs they understood. But, with the help of those giants IT firms, it's a whole new different story.

Now, it's a matter of which company will be better able to make use of these small companies. Stay tuned guys!

Apple's new iPhone 4.0 revealed, ever-so-fabulous !

Apple unveiled a next-generation iPhone on Monday that features video chat, can shoot and edit high-definition quality video and has a crisper resolution screen.

Yeah, these are the 3 new factors.

The sidelines include a longer battery life, up to 40% more talk time, a new Apple 4.0 chip made of silicon.

The phone is now of course thinner and has more power than ever before.

The video chat is remarkable.

You can now take way better pictures than before as the resolution is boosted by 4 folds.

"There is a magic number around 300 pixels per inch that is the limit of the human retina," Jobs said. "We are over that limit.

Pfizer slahes off jobs

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer said Tuesday that it will reduce its staff by another 6,000 jobs and shut down eight factories in its ongoing mission to cut costs in the wake of its merger with Wyeth.

This is not surprising to me at all. When it comes to acquisitions, it's usually for the betterment of the company as this broadens their scope of network along with products. Also, it will enable them to cash in on a larger consumer group. Naturally, the profits will rise and more innovations will come about as these 2 companies pitch their ideas together and hopefully, a breakthrough will be borned.

However, this merger will naturally come at a heavy cost, literally. It is exorbitant, particularly in this case for Pfizer to acquire Wyeth, no doubt it will pay off in the future. The short term impacts are for sure, painful and striking.

Even for Pfizer, who is extremely wealthy, it is definitely acerbic to maintain their balance throughout this period and if they happen to fall, they will fall hard, real hard. Normally, the standard approach to reducing cost is of course to fire their employees, streamline their operations and of course cut down costs when it comes to manufacturing.

"We obviously take these reductions very seriously and want to make sure our colleagues that are impacted by this are treated with dignity and respect," said Kerins.

How do they settle these issues then? Well, if they are not careful, they can easily trigger off a slippery slope. All their employees could go on strikes altogether. It is important to put it across to their employees nicely and not just dump them away. They are precious. Afterall, they have been with the company for quite some time and are naturally attached to it sentimentally.

If they are just thrown away like garbage and left to their own. It will definitely not give the company a good public image and naturally sales will plummet.

Hence, it is crucial and paramount to handle this issue with extreme care. Becareful Pfizer, don't let this incident break you !
