Dubai is reportedly preparing to sell a host of assets, including one of the world's best known cruise ships, as the emirate's investment arm looks to restructure a mountain of debt.
One of the assets they are jettisoning is their Queen Elizabeth II
Istithmar bought the QE2, once the largest passenger ship in existence, in 2007 for an estimated $100 million. The firm had planned to turn the ship into a floating hotel attached to a man-made, palm-shaped island in the Persian Gulf.
A floating hotel+Burj Khalifa+the Dubai World+A copious amount of oil = Dubai God
That's the perfect formulae man, really hope Queen Elizabeth will not be passed on to other people.
Also in the firm's portfolio is a 20% stake in Canadian circus group Cirque du Soleil. But a Cirque du Soleil spokeswoman said the group has had no indication from Istithmar that a sale is pending.
Just look at the above, which circus is as great as this one above?
It's practically surreal and fanatical man!
People pay and fly all the way there just to watch them perform man.
It's almost a dream and a luxury to watch them sing and dance and jump all over the place. It calms your mind and gratifies your soul.
There is no way Dubai should ever contemplate on this one. It is without a shadow of a doubt of the most prestigious and covet circus crew in the entire world so to speak.
Every single performance is like an incandescent masterpiece. They consistently uphold their standards and without fail, they shine throughout.

Toyota's Saga
Do you recall Johnson & Johnson's saga with its Tylenol recall?
It was de facto much worse than that of Toyota's number of cars recalled.
As a matter of fact, we are talking about medicines here. I can only imagine how many people out there have already consumed it before it was being recalled.
Even if you can't recall, it's okay because sad to say, the spectre of the incident is once again back to haunt J&J.
But the point is, J&J handled it flawlessly in the past.
They recalled all the pills and offered tablets instead to the people who really need Tylenol.
In Toyota's case, they can't really offer spare cars to the victims can they?
Hence, they will have to build on consumer confidence once again.
Rather than just merely fixing the brakes system and the software update, I trust that it is imperative that Toyota go the extra-mile and provide more values back to their clients.
This is a matter of life and death after all. Without the brakes, their clients could have died as they try to stop an accident imminent from their sight.
Nonetheless, a lot of people out there are already spreading the news and this has adverse effects on the dismal brake systems that Toyota once touted as being the best. They are also saying that the demise of Toyota is imminent and it won't be long before it shuts down after losing more than close to 700 million USD thus far.
Amidst all these saga, I prognosticate that Toyota will survive through this acerbic period that they are going through.
In business, no matter how "perfect" you are, there will always be blemishes hidden away. People have the proclivity to scrutinize your operations and spread rumours about one single foible you make.
The point is to remain dauntless and resilient. When you maintain a calm equanimity amidst all the drama, people then starts to regain their trust and promises to give you a second chance.
Seeing how poignant you are about resolving the problem, they are willing to take chances once again.
All in all, my point is that in business, you should never be afraid of making mistakes. In fact, one rule in business is that you must make a certain number of mistakes during every months' operations in order to improve consistently.
If you are always undisturbed, you will inadvertently get complacent and end up slacking off the scale.
Till then, the corporations that have made much more mistakes than you tend to overtake you, leaving you far, far behind.
Hence, I believe that if Toyota deals with this matter successfully (by handling this situation with care and providing their clients with even more value than before), they will emerge even stronger than before.
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

You got mail !
Check this out !
My very first mail from overseas !
This is my virgin overseas order.
And it's given to T.M.Lewin.
Well they had an offer too hard to reject.
4 shirts for 90 pounds at a discount of 10% man!
That's killer man
Even with the import fee of 15 pounds, I only spent a mere 99.60 pounds which converts to around $225 singapore dollars for a total of 4 shirts !!!
If you were to buy it in Singapore, it will cost you 3 for $239. Ludicrous isn't it?
I was delirious with joy after receiving it.
For a moment, I was a little apprehensive about whether the order will actually arrive because it's been 2 weeks and the website mentioned that the order will arrive in 5-7 working days.
Well, I guess my worries were unfounded.
I was too excited so I immediately tore open my first shirt and there you have it.
Perfect fit.
Neck size 14.5 inch and sleeve length 33.5 inch.
The sleeve length is just nice for me.
The surprise is that 33 inch is their shortest sleeve length without alteration. I was in disbelief initially because personally I have long limbs so I'm really surprised that I'm classified the shortest sleeve length.
This is the second one.
Really miniscule black checkers
The blue stripes are classy looking.
This is the luxury white I'm talking about.
Yeah, so the excitement is over and I will wear them to work soon !
Yay !

21 21 21 Blackjack
Well well well,
This is the first-ever 21st birthday party I have been to this year. I'm pretty sure there are A LOT MORE to come. But I shall quietly anticipate that there will be lots of fun :)
For now let's take a look at how this one turns out.
It was definitely fun because I won alot of money and there were lots of people there as well.

For now let's take a look at how this one turns out.
It was definitely fun because I won alot of money and there were lots of people there as well.
First and foremost, the girls were doing up all the balloons before we arrived.
The gas tank sure look like it has lots of air in it.
Pretty awesome view isn't it ?
Then came the catering people in charge, setting up the booth.
Food-wise, I guess it's the typical catering, nothing fantastic.
My favourite is still CJS's. $15 per person but the food is delicious, filled with flavours.
Then my clique arrived.
Another clique arrived. I guess they are her NUS friends.
Joanne, Red, Birthday Girl Petrina
Sorry, it's us again.
This was the photo we took when we first stepped into the bungalow
Yet another clique, I think they are her NUS friends as well.
Look at the size of the bungalow.
It's brobdingnagian man!
Anyway, it was rented. 4 days for only $170.
So much cheaper than a chalet and to think we thought it was like $500++ for 4 nights.
But then, you can't get it at your wish. There's this ballot system where you have to go through before you get this fantastic bungalow with a pool.
This is the pool I'm talking about. Then again, I'm not so sure it's clean because I dont think the staff washes it.
I won $15.50 at the mahjong table.
BIG MONEY BIG MONEY
See, my hands are so quick that the camera cannot even capture it properly.
The skills of a professional gambler :)
This is the guy that is the true gambler.
He's holding on to a stack of cards already, at this young age.
He was hovering around me as I was playing Mahjong, I suspect that he saw me acting surreptitiously throughout the game.
Thank god I was able to circumvent capture by this potential king of gambler.
Look at the plethora of coloured stars around the cake.
So colourful
Pretty 21 I guess.
Petrina and her family.
Somehow I love this picture.
The colours just seem to bounce off each other.
Nice overall picture
Look at all the paparazzi.
All our loyal fans supporting our new show.
We are a living drama.
Time to say goodbye
Oh wait, before that, take a look at some of the candid photos first
The middle one is Ng Chin Keong, you thought this is funny?
Wait till you see the one below
Cool story bro?
Haha, okay I shall stop being mean.
Okay that's all for now. Time to head home and relax
See you guys at yet another 21st

New York, I Love you: Sex
This is yet another interesting story about 2 person who met via a fortuitous encounter at a bar where they went to have sex with each other.
So, as the story goes, they both met in a bar and then they make-out at an apartment. Before the scene above, the guy was walking 30 blocks to the bar while the girl was on a train to the bar. Both of them were pondering over that night they spent together.
They were both unclear about the ambiguous nature of the night and that whether they were drunk or something.
The girl mentioned a salient point, "We both don't know each other and we know that right from the start, we are not each other's type. But, that night, we both played into it. It was more than just sex. We entered a new zone and we both played into it."
There are sexual scenes displayed but of course, it is more of an art. It does not depict sex as degrading. Conversely, it showcases how that night brought them so much closer and that it left them both ruminating about it.
The point here is that they both knew they were not meant for each other right from the start.
Does this occur to you all the time? Do you ever wonder if he/she is the right one for you? Is he/she your style? Do you think you can live with him all your life?
Well, we tend to give this thought process a long and detailed consideration but at the end of the day, this analyse is futile, in vain. Reason being, we will never be able to fathom love per se and that no amount of analyse will do.
You can be prepared to go into a relationship with the most fanciful proposal and compromise and it will still not work out.
On the other hand, 2 people from the two extreme end of the world can actually meet up and love each other deeply and it might just be perennial.
More often than not, we judge couples along the road.
Why is she with a guy like him?
What does he like about her?
I think I make a much better candidate man.
All these baseless remarks are emanated from the roots of jealousy within us. Not being able to find our true love, we criticise and hopefully we can make ourselves feel better.
However, in actual fact, are we devoided of love and thus have an empty hole within?
The truth is, love is unpredictable and that you should never judge or analyse love beyond a certain point because you just do not know what you are in for.
Yep, I have come to the end of my interpretation of the movie, hope you have enjoyed reading them! Do drop your comments if you have any other thoughts once you have watched the movie.
Remember, it's called New York, I love you
Starhub's idiotic bills
Today is a bad bad day
Starhub almost ripped me off $82.90.
I was charged 289.20 for my data usage but I only used a mere 71MB and I am actually under the 1GB Blackberry Premium Data Plan for your information!
Look at the details of the plan

Look at the details of the plan
It's supposed to be a mere $13.93 a month and yet they managed to charge me $82.90
And what's an even more egregious mistake is that the cap limit is supposed to be at $36.38
Isn't this flagrant enough?
Seriously, they should fire these people at the billing department. Their accounts are really bad.
Are they from poly or something? No offence
I'm really in this irascible mood right now. Anything in the world can disgust me.
The worst part is that they did not even say that they are going to compensate me or anything.
So irresponsible.

You are not mistaken.
The tradings of Warren Buffett's stock Berkshire Hathaway was gargantuan in volume last Friday as a huge amount of convulsion was built up by the entire world.
It was really intense but at the same time, many experts predicted that such a scenario will happen.
If you had studied Economics, you should be familiar with the price elasticity of demand right?
In the past, the stock was definitely elastic (it's almost a prerogative to own it). Everyone wants it and the demand is definitely high. But the problem is that only a few could afford it because it was priced at a skyrocketing amount.
Now, it is so much cheaper, which in turn transforms the stock into an inelastic demand stock whereby any change of price will not be too much of a concern for other people now that it is cheap.
But this is a rather special case for Warren Buffett's stock. Even though it's priced at a way lower price than before (2% of the original price), people will still be scrutinizing its daily trading because it has the potential to rise to an all new high again!
As you can see, JDS Uniphase is still holding on to the top position with a total trade volume of $27.7 billion. Remember the 1990s Internet boom? Where the volume of chips, computers and processors surge like no one's business?
That was the period when technology stocks flew up the rooftop with a BANG!
What's ironic here is that Warren Buffett has never ever believe in technology stocks because he thinks that they are just a fad.
Which is to say, it is volatile and is not sustainable at all because it's way too fast paced and ambiguous.
If you had noticed, till now, Warren Buffett does not own a single technology stock.
He never really dwell much into the business of Intel or IBM if you realised.
Despite having a panoply of business, he's constantly scrutinizing the operations of every single business under him.
For instance, look at the recent drama (Kraft purchasing Cadbury) Irene Rosenfeld has created.
To be honest, Warren Buffett believes that she had overpaid Cadbury stockholders and that the interest of Kraft's shareholders has been damaged.
Nonetheless, Irene's confidence level has not been emasculated one bit as she bulldozed her proposal all the way through, for a total of 5 strenuous months.
This is a great proof of the fact that Warren never let any business he owns run wild.
What's so peculiar about him is that he always aim to be the biggest shareholder of a company he invest in so that he can manipulate the acquisitions in one way or another.
Afterall, the public never fails to relentlessly tag behind Warren Buffett in every single investment he made.
Now that they can own his stock, everyone must be delirious with joy because it is almost like a sure win lottery.
You bet on it and you are guranteed a profit.
It's better than investing in bonds!

New York, I Love you: Age
This is a story about an old couple, walking along the streets, celebrating their 63rd anniversary together.
The above picture is the culmination of 63 years of consistent love for one another.
Before this, they were chronically bickering with one another, yelling at one another.
Here's one conversation they had.
Man: Is there some place you're gonna get to later? What is your hurry?
Lady: My hurry is that I want to get there before next week. At the rate you walk
Man: You want faster? Divorce me! And get yourself a younger man.Tom Cruise perhaps.
Lady: You think you are funny?
Man: I do as a matter of fact.
Lady: And what will you do, Mr Smarty Pants, I'm so independent I don't need any help opening the pickle jar.
Man: I got caught in the pickle.
Lady: Hmm, you will still be putting on your jacket if it wasn't for me.
It was seriously hilarious, I was laughing all the way throughout this story.
It was extremely interesting and by the way, they had more bickering sessions, the above is only one of which. You will seriously laugh your ass off man!
Well, back to the point of love. As you can see palpably from the story. It is about perennial love even till death. How many of us can actually sustain love with a partner for so long? Divorce rates are so high these days, more than 30% among couples. Even amidst those that are still married, most of them are de facto not talking to each other or not even cohabiting with one another.
As a matter of fact, bickering does add vitality and vibrancy to your love life. However, you should never take it too seriously. Bickering can be made fun and enjoyable between couples. They will bring them closer together after each fight and their love life will be brought to a whole new level.
There's nothing too particular you have to worry about. Just giving and taking will help sustain a love life forever.
More often than not, people are not really serious when it comes to arguements. But, couples misunderstood each other and thought that the other party was seriously into it. When they clear things up, they really see the point of the view of the other that was once obfuscated by the cloud of assumptions they made about each other.
So, do not take arguements seriously, bickering is just a way of life.
Enjoy it while you can as they can add serious sparks and colours to your love life!
