Okay this is totally random but I want to suggest it here.
One day, I was using my computer as usual, and then i suddenly saw a slight portion of my own reflection on the stand of my monitor.
To my dismay, I was actually slouching rather than sitting up straight.
I always try to retain a good seating posture when I'm using the computer but after a while, I unconsciously slouch and drop back to the undesirable posture once again.
As you all know, if you do not sit properly, after a prolonged period of time, your back will start to ache and the pain will haunt you for a long period of time.
It's insidious in nature, meaning you won't notice it until after a while.
So what if the technology companies start to produce monitors that have mirrors installed near their borders?
It could dress up the mundane looking monitor that is sitting right in front of you.
At the same time, for those vain people out there, you can constantly check to see if you are still looking as gorgeous as ever.
And more important, you will be consistently reminded by YOURSELF(best form of reminder) to sit up straight when using the computer.
Trust me, it is really unsightly to see yourself slouching.
Really an ugly sight!
So what better way to deter people from doing the wrong things that to scare them?
That's the best wakeup call you can possible get.
So, if by any chance you happen to work in a computer company or something.
You can suggest this to your boss or IBM or whatsoever and see what they say!
Yep, hope you guys like my suggestion :)

New York, I Love You: Admiration
Well well well, the first one will have to go to the story revolving around the Opera Singer and the Hotel Manager.
As you can see from the picture above, the one on the left is the Opera Singer and the one on the right is the Hotel Manager.
The hotel manager did not tell the opera singer that he is de facto the hotel manager of the hotel. He merely told her that the hotel manager is a big admirer of hers and that he has heard her sang in Paris a couple of times.
I refer to this story at the love of adulation and admiry.
See the bouquet of violets on her hand? It's a gift the hotel manager got for her when she requested for flowers.
How many hotels have you been to where the hotel staff are so attentive that they listen to your preferences and deliver it to you immediately? Well, for me, none and I'm sure for the majority of you, none as well. You will have to blatantly make the request before you get it.
That's the epitome of service I guess, something I am very proud of.
Anyway, after that small conversations of theirs above, the hotel manager offered to shut the window so he walked towards the window but the next moment, unbeknownst to the opera singer (who wanted to commit suicide), the hotel manager jumped out of the window and died.
Then the hotel receptionist/owner, I'm not very sure, came in and told the opera singer that he did not see anyone down there. Yep, he did not see any dead bodies down there. Weird isn't it?
Then, he asked the opera singer if she wanted him to close the window because it's really cold.
The opera singer replied: "Yes, please close the window."
This is the part I find intriguing. "Yes, please close the window." More often than not, we often open up so many windows for ourselves, sometimes even the wrong windows. But the point is, what does it take for us to willingly close the wrong windows? Can we even tell that it is the wrong window we opened? Do we have the courage to close it by ourselves?
In this case, I believe that it takes a macabre death and a sacrifice for the opera singer to finally decide to close that "suicide window" and to open up another one to her brand new life.
On the other hand, since there are no bodies, perhaps it only takes a hallucination or a mere visualization to affirm yourself that it is the wrong window.
So, a death or simply a visualization into your own future? What does it take for you to close a window and open up another one in your life?
Does your life sucks now? Do you have a choice? Yes, we all do, so please. Close the window that makes your life sucks now and open up your brand new window that will rock it!

New York, I Love You
Frangibility of Life
Age
Uncertainties
Sex
Fortuitous encounters
Love
Add them all up and you get . . . New York, I love you.
It's really an awesome movie, displaying a gamut of love stories in the most uncanny and twisted manner.
You will see all sorts of love stories that is so complicated yet fundamentally simple too. Love is such an enigmatic issue don't you think?
While science has progressed leaps and bounds throughout the past few centuries, love is still at its standstill, ever so complex and mind-boggling.
Even the top physicians or the lawyers can't seem to fathom what is love actually all about. Entrepreneurs earning billions are having relationship problems themselves. You can manage the world, but can you manage love?
This movie, New York, I love you demonstrates how fragile love is and at the same time how strong it can actually be.
You will see a plethora of random encounters between the characters in the movie and somehow sparks seem to enchant their lives and bring them together. Some met and broke up, some met and make out, some met and leave it to the future, some met and will never meet again.
Intriguing isn't it? Well, if you will like to find out more in details, do stay tune for the next few posts because all of them will be on each small facet of the movie, gyrating around different love stories and characters.
I will offer my own interpretation on each one of course!
So stay tune!

Chinese New Year Day 1
Just a really quick post about Chinese New Year Day 1
Went to grandma house at 2pm, yeah pretty late but oh well when I reached my grandma's house, only 1 family was there.
How pathetic.
However, practically all of them arrived at 3pm.
Then we started our usual routine, that is mahjong.
Haha and I won alot, like really alot but I won't say how much. All I can is that this is a great start to the new year.
May more money be rolling in.
I'm going to be my auntie's house on Tuesday. Will try to take more photos on that day.
For now, enjoy the 4 pictures.

Burberry Polo T-shirt
Dolce & Gabanna Belt
Armani Exchange Jeans
Yes, it was a major fashion outbreak at my grandma's house. So many branded stuff all over the place
And last but not least, my adorable nephew.
Will take more pictures on Tuesday hopefully. I never really like to take pictures. Lazy
Here's a short conversation I had with him
Jin Rong (5 yrs old only): Ehhhhhh..... I thought you ate already?
Me: Nope, I'm the last one.
Jin Rong: HAHAHAHAHA you are lying. (yes, he likes to laugh a lot)
Me: Huh? I'm not lying. I really haven't eat.
Jin Rong: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. I saw you eating just now.
Me: Haha okay fine I'm eating again okay?
Jin Rong: OKAY! HAHAHHAHA
Damn funny man he.
He took 1 hour to finish his small bowl of dinner by the way.
Hahaha
Louis Vuitton
I'm sure that by now you guys should have gotten all your Chinese New Year goodies right?
On top of that, you must have bought a ton of New Year clothings, accessories and shoes right?
Well, we human beings are special, the thing is, we hate to be sold, but somehow we love to buy. We just go on shopping and shopping and shopping like no one's business and claim that it helps us to de-stress. However, nowadays, the sales assistants in the shop seems to be overly-intrusive (like as if they are breaking into your house) and they tend to scrutinize your every actions in the shop. I'm wondering, is that what they are taught?
The point is, whenever people enters a shop, you don't go about asking them how may I help you because I have not even glanced at any of their products yet and they are already asking me an irrelevant question already. That really turns me off. Hence, whenever I see them approaching, I will just leave the shop frantically. Believe it or not, even high-end shops' sales assistants behave like this.
So as I perambulate along the streets and malls, I realised that there is a plethora of stores going on massive sales and giving out free goodies fervently. Then as I walked nearer to the high-end stores, I asked my friends this question, "Do stores like Burberry or Louis Vuitton ever go on sales?"
Well they answered, "Not really, except in Milan where there is a Louis Vuitton warehouse sales."
But I replied, "If you can afford to go to Milan, you jolly well can afford to buy the LV bag at full price in Singapore."
Let me tell you something, do you know that Louis Vuitton is actually only mildly-affected by the economic crisis? You see other gargantuan stores like Wal-Mart, Kroger and Macy's, they are de facto floundering in the retail business as they are pushing their product prices to an all-time low to fight competition from their peers.
Conversely, Louis Vuitton never goes on sales, Whatever you think of them, their strategy and philosophy of “no discounts” and “nothing ever goes on sale” has kept them at high profitability all over the world for more than 100 years. Even in tough times.
It's a form of affirmation for the consumers who purchased their goods too, that only the rich and prestigious consumers can afford Louis Vuitton. So long as you possess a Louis Vuitton good, you can be sure that people know that you purchased it at a high price, not at a warehouse price.
The adulation and admiration you get from the street-walkers when you prounced by them. It's ineffable and priceless. The joy of seeing the others giving you the acknowledgement look. It just makes you think, my starvation period (a period where you save on meals) was worth it!
All in all, I guess it really pays to be consistent after all, even if you are consistently high-priced. At least the upper class can be assured that no Tom, Dick or Harry is carrying the same bag as them, which is what they hold dearly to their heart.
Can you imagine seeing an auntie who is dressed in pasar malam clothings carrying the same LV bag as you? The feeling is crushing and daunting.

3M
3M Co. on Thursday said fourth-quarter net income jumped 74%, but shares fell as the company said it faces price pressure in its business of optical films for improving the performance of LCD screens.
Looking across its many industrial businesses at 3M's prospects for 2010, company executives told analysts that they don't expect much positive news in residential housing, commercial construction or the automotive business but that consumer markets are expected to grow "slightly."
I'm sure most of you are extremely familiar with this friend of yours, named 3M am I right? They are famous for the provision of adhesives, where else can you get your Scotch Tape? Also, they are famous for the Post-It notes as well. You stick them all over the place so you better remember 3M for that!
And how can we ever forget the Probation Plate that all first year drivers have to place in their car before they drive off during the first year?
A little background information for you guys on 3M.
3M is actually a company notoriously famous for the diversification of its products. It has a total of 50,000 products and they are still diversifying with a introduction rate of 100 new products per year. However, they stick very closely to their strength and source of energy which is the bonding and chemical technology. No matter what they produce, it is always related to the above mentioned technology.
The company said on a conference call with analysts that its film business within its Display and Graphics unit has drawn strong interest from makers of LCD screens because it improves energy efficiency by more than 30%.
Everyone is concerned about saving of energy now! That is why 3M is extremely shrewd, they know how to move with the flow of the market. They know that LCD screens now are extremely competitive with competition on the thickness of the screen and the quality of the colours displayed.
Also, with the introduction of the movie "Avatar", 3D has been brought to an all new high level. This movie has triggered the move to bring 3D into video games and television shows. Recently, the Argentina's soccer match has been premiered in 3D over 9 lucky countries and the results is tremendously successful.
In no time, people will be moving into 3D even as they are watching their favourite Ellen Degeneres show or their favourite HD movies at home during a Saturday night. Hence, more people will be buying great television sets to help them better visualize the 3D effects and this is the best opportunity for 3M to reap alot of profits too.
So, 3M's move into the film business for the LCD screens is the most apposite move you can find right now! They always diversify consistently and they move out of an industry once competitors start to catch up. This way, they will move out with no losses and that they can enter new business where the cycle starts all over again. Money just keeps falling into their pockets!
However, customers "continue to drive price reductions, and we will need to respond with continued aggressive cost reduction and productivity in order to fund needed new products," he added.
Price competition is always notoriously famous in the industry where products are priced at a low cost. Cost leadership is extremely crucial in this industry so 3M has no choice but to capitulate at times.
However, bear in mind that their cost cutting is not to thrive and compete in the industry. They look at the bigger picture, their aim is to reap enough money until it is saturated whereby any more cost reduction will term their profits as being insignificant. Then, they will use all the money and reinvest them into the new products and they start working again!
That's the beauty of 3M.
Gorgeous isn't it?
